Celebrate National Night Out with TPD

The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) invites the community to join local first responders for an evening of food, fun and connection during the local National Night Out on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Cascades Park.

Held annually in communities across the country, National Night Out is designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the people they serve while bringing neighbors together in a fun, family-friendly environment.

This year's free event will feature music, activities, food while supplies last and opportunities for community members of all ages to meet and interact with local first responders outside of an emergency setting.

"National Night Out gives us an opportunity to simply spend time with the people we serve," said Chief Lawrence Revell. "The relationships we build during events like this matter. We want our community to know the men and women behind the badge, ask questions, learn more about what we do and, most importantly, know that we are HERE for them."

TPD will be joined by local and state public safety agencies and community partners for the event. TPD's Community Relations Unit, Community Oriented Policing and Problem-Solving Squad (COPPS), Motor Unit, Tactical Apprehension and Control (TAC) Team, and other specialty units will also be on-site to meet attendees, showcase resources and provide information about programs and services available to the community.

TPD is proud to once again bring National Night Out to Tallahassee and looks forward to welcoming families, neighbors and community members to Cascades Park for an evening centered on connection, partnership and community.
